Lakuri Bhanjyang

Lakuri Bhanjyang is a hill station located on the eastern fringe of the Lalitpur district, about 15 kilometers away from Kathmandu valley. It is one of the best destinations in Nepal to witness spectacular views of major towns such as Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. It’s a great site for a picnic and has just opened up for paragliding, so it’s also a great destination for individuals with an adventurous attitude. Picnics on this site with a 360-degree panoramic view are popular among Kathmandu and Lalitpur residents.

The main feature of Lakuri Bhanjyang is the cool breeze in summer and playing with snow in winter. Being the main residence of the Tamang tribe, this place is important in terms of tourism. Phulchowki trek can also be done from Lakuri Bhanjyang which is connected to Panauti Phulchowki hill after descending 10 km from Lakuri Bhanjyang. A trek to Sringi Caves, which is 1 km from Bhanjyang, is also exciting. Sringi Cave is believed to be the abode of sage Sringi in ancient times. Panauti can also be reached after a 10 km descent from Lakuri Bhanjyang.

·        Biking

The Lakuri Bhanjyang riding path is ideal for a biking excursion. The trail runs for 30 kilometers from Patan to Lakuri Bhanjyang. It is designed as a flat bicycle track in the center of the road. The entire Lakuri Bhanjyang riding package provides you with an incredible opportunity to explore its route with an incredible ride against the wind. It is a distinct type of experience within the valley.

·        Day Hiking

Lakuri Bhanjyang hiking is famed for its excellent vistas of the Mountain ranges, spectacular dawn views, and snow-capped peaks. The climb passes through the picturesque settlement of Ranikot, which dominates the breathtaking mountain view on clear days, creating a type of cityscape from all the activity and bustle. The path or trail to this great location is hardly inhabited and quite gorgeous. One may take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside, hillsides, and local residents going about their daily lives.

·        Paragliding

Paragliding tours in Lakuri Bhanjyang are highly recommended adventure activities in Nepal for experiencing life in the air. It is one of the country’s newest athletic events. Paragliding provides you the sensation of unfettered flight at the lowest possible cost and time. ·        Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley

This picnic spot, which is very close to the valley, is at a high altitude, so you can directly observe Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu i.e., Kathmandu valley as if looking through a window. Lakuri Bhanjyang Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Suryabinyak/Godavari/Gwarko and hike to Lakuri Bhanjyang for 5-7 hours depending upon your initial location.

Note: No matter which trail you choose, you will pass through subtropical dense forests of oak and rhododendron along the way, but as you climb to the summit of Lakuri Bhanjyang, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Best Time for Lakuri Bhanjyang Day Hike

It is a simple trek that is suitable for all ages and can be completed at any time of year. The walkway becomes clogged during the monsoon season since the roadways are seasonal and grow muddy with the rain. However, the breathtaking view from the summit more than makes up for it.

Getting There

Lakuri Bhanjyang is mostly a day hike destination. There are several methods to go to this location. It is 13 kilometers from Ringroad Gwarko, 9 kilometers from Bhaktapur’s Sanga, and 10 kilometers from the Godavari. Hikers may take 2 to 3 hours, depending on their speed and how much fun they want to have along the route.

If you want to get to Lyakuri Bhanjyang by bus, you may do so from the Lagankhel Bus Park or the Purano Bus Park. One can take the Luvu-Panauti public bus from Lagankhel, Lalitpur to reach Lakuri Bhanjyang. From Lagankhel, Lakuri Bhanjyang is 12.5 km away. You may also take a two-wheeler i.e., bike, or scooter to Lakuri Bhanjyang through Imadol – Lamatar Road, which takes around half an hour to reach. Traveling by four-wheeler vehicle may take a little longer due to traffic density.

To sum up, it is a popular destination for people who wish to appreciate nature, relax, and be immersed in the breathtaking scenery, but it never fails to disappoint adventure seekers, since one can go hiking, paragliding, or riding here.
