Letang municipality is situated at the south-eastern part of Nepal. It is situated in Morang district of Nepal of province number 1. By merging the different Village Development Committes such as Warrangi, Bhogatenj, Letang, and Jante this municipality was formed. It is one of the rapidly growing municipality of Nepal. Belbari, Pathari-sanischare, Koshi-Haraicha are the neighbouringmunicipalities of Letang. This place lies near the bank of Chisang River. According to Survey around 70% of total population of Letang are farmers and working on agriculture. Letang municipality also comes under the developed municipality of Morang district with good education facilities, health services, proper water supply, schools, colleges, communication.
Some of the famous educational institutions of Letang are Green Valley School, Letang Secondary Boarding School, Galaxy School, Laxmi English School, Bal Niketan School , Letang College etc. Letang Bazar is one of the important part of Letang municipality. In The Village Development Committes of Letang Municipalities population distribution is quite uneven. Many famous personalities such as Praween Khatiwada, Babu Bogati, Ram Bhujel belongs to this place. Rajarani mahotsab is celebrated yearly under the influence of different organizations of Letang. The ethic groups living here are mostly Rai, Limbu, Magar, Brahmins, Chhetri, Tamang, Gurung etc. Letang municipality has a great potential for tourism. Each year visitors from different parts of Nepal and foreign countries comes to visit this place. Due to its unique geographical variation and beautiful sight seeings it attracts the visitors each year.
Climate : in June the average temperature of this place varies from 70 degree Fahrenheit to 80 degree Fahrenheit. During Summer also the temperature of this place is cool enough. Due to the large amount of trees and greenery the environment is healthy with fresh air.
How to reach: Letang is about 394 kilometers distance from Kathmandu and 46 kilometers distance from Biratnagar. There are two ways to reach this place one is by flight and another is by drive. You can also use public, reserved or private vehicles to travel this place. Visitors can choose as per their comfort .
