Temke Dada

Temke Dada, a hill, is perched at the height of 3010 from the sea level, Bhojpur on the border of Khotang, Province 1, Nepal. It is one of the 100 tourism spots declared by the government of Nepal. Temke Hill deserves its importance geographically, naturally, culturally and religiously. The top of the hill offers the views of panoramic scenic beauty of mountains, greenery, gorges, and hill ridges.

The temples of Siddheshwar Mahadeva, considered as the God who fulfils your desires, and Mahakali Devi, an epitome of wrath and energy to destroy the destructive power of the demons,                                      make Temke Hill a centre of religious value. This is equally important for Hindus, Buddhists and Kirats. There has been a tradition of celebrating a religious fate, called Mela, on the occasion of Shivaratri and Balachadurshi.

From touristic side, Temke Hill is so darling and pleasant that you can see the splendid views of the Everest, including kanchanjangha, Makalu, Gourishankar, and other peaks around. It also offers you the opportunity of seeing parts of Sankhuwasabha, Terhathum, Taplejung and Udayapur districts. Not only this, the hill is a spot from where can be seen Darjeeling, Sikkim, Bhutan, and some plains.

Temke Dada is some 50 kilometres from Diktel and 55 kilometres from  Bhojpur. Via whatever route you decide to visit it, you have to go up along the trail on foot for about 45 minutes.
