Rajbiraj is a medium-sized municipality in Nepal’s Province No. 2’s south-eastern area. Rajbiraj is the district headquarters of Saptari and the province’s No. 2’s eighth largest city. The city was the first township in Nepal to get urban planning in 1938, and it has been methodically constructed similar to the Indian town of Jaipur.Rajbiraj is a typical tourist town and a good starting point for exploring eastern Nepal’s fascinating sights. History of Rajbiraj: This city also has a long history, with remains and stone samples reaching back to the 8th century AD from the nearby Rajdevi Temple. The temple is known as Kushadhwaja’s family temple. The city is the historical twin city of Janakpur, which is also renowned as the seat of Kushadhwaja, King Janka’s brother, whose three daughters Mandavi, Urmila, and Shrutakirti were married to Bharata, Lakshmana, and Satrughna, respectively.After his brother won a war against Sankasya when Sankasya besieged Janakpur, Kushdhwaja governed the province through his ministers and moved to Sankadya. Primary food in Rajbiraj: Rice, dal, and curry are the region’s primary foods. People make a variety of fried veggies as well as other unique dishes for festive occasions. In Rajbiraj, fish is one of the most common protein sources.
