Siraha is one of the districts in province two in Nepal. Siraha is located in a low altitude area so the weather is warm throughout the year. Lower tropical and upper tropical climate zone are found in this district. We can access Siraha by roadways and airways. Mahendra highway can be used for road access and Rajbiraj airport for nearest air transport. Kamala River, Rajdevi mandir, Taregna Jungale, Khapate Danda, Lahan Bazar, and other places can be visited in Siraha. This district lies in the Mithilanchal region. The people of Siraha are mostly related to the Salhesh flok god. Salhesh was a public hero and became adorable due to his patriotism and leadership strength. There is also a temple called Salhesh mandir in his name. In that temple, there is an idol of Salhesh sitting on an elephant. There are two attractive idols of Auna and Kusumaon on both sides. Moti Ram and Buddheshwor are also riding on horses adjacent to the statue. A statue of elephant Dinamalini with a flower basket is also there.
There is also a garden in which there is a popular tree named Harem which is the main attraction of that place. In that tree, a flower in form of garland blooms one day ad fades away other days. None of the experts can find out the reason why it fades away. People think it is supernatural power. The flower is said to be bloomed on Nepalese New Year’s day and it is also said that Salhesh’s beloved used to embrace her love on the same day. This place is very popular due to this reason and people from not only Nepal but also from India come to visit this beautiful garden and temple. There are many stories about king Salhesh. There are two temples of king Salhesh there.
In the east of the temple, there is a lake too. There is also a Malini temple which is named after king Salhesh. There are many monuments of both of them. There is also Salhesh Phulbari on which a fair happens on Nepalese New Year and thousands of devotees from different cities visit this garden. One should for sure visit this place to see the unique charisma of the environment. This temple is one of the historical places to visit in Nepal which has beautiful scenarios. One can explore the historical and natural aroma of Salhesh Mandir.
