Mount Ama Dablam

Mt. Ama Dablam is one of the beautiful mountains which is located at the lower Khumbu, Solukhumbu, Province no. 1, Nepal. The height of Ama Dablam mountain is 6856m. This is the 3rd popular mountain in Nepal.

It is named Ama Dablam in the name of a traditional ornament box used by Sherpa women. This expedition is one of the challenging expeditions.

Best time for the expedition:

The best time for expedition AmaDablam isspring and autumn.

During winter, the cold climate and heavy snowfall make the climb challenging so, most people prefer during spring either before monsoon or after the monsoon, on the month of April-May or September-October.

Expedition Permit:

You need the permit to climb the peak as well to enter the Sagarmatha National Park i.e. Sagarmatha National Park permit. You have to show them at different checkpoints.

Who can do the expedition?

Those who are climbing Mt. AmaDablam must be physically fit and strong. One should be physically and mentally prepared for climb and must be experienced also, know about altitude sickness, rock climbing, and ice climbing as it is a difficult expedition.

Itinerary:

As soon as you reach Kathmandu you have 2 days to stay and explore the city. Then, the next day you will take a flight to Lukla and trek to Padhking and then to Namche. You will have acclimatization day on Namche Bazaar and the next day you hike to Tyangboche then to Pangboche and then to AmaDablam base camp.

There are 3 camps. Camp 1 (5600 m), camp 2 (5900 m), and camp 3 (6200 m) and finally you reach the summit. Then you return to the Lukla and fly to Kathmandu. A brief itinerary is given below:

Day 1:Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu

Day 2: Explore Kathmandu city

Day 3: Preparation for expedition

Day 4:Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla airport (2840m) and trek to Phakding (2600 m)

Day 5:Trek from Phakdingto Namche Bazzar(3440m)

Day 6:Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and explore over there

Day 7:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3860m)

Day 8:Trek from Tyangbocheto Pangboche(4000m)

Day 9: Trek from Pangboche to AmaDablam base camp (4400 m)

Day 10 to Day 24: climbing period to AmaDablam (6812 m) from the base camp

Day 25: cleaning the base camp area

Day 26: Trek back to Tyangboche from base camp

Day 27: Trek back to Monjo from Tyangboche

Day 28: Trek back from Monjo to Lukla

Day 29: Fly from Lukla Airport to Kathmandu

Day 30: Explore beautiful Kathmandu city

Day 31: Departure

This is a 31-day expedition where you can explore the beauty of the Himalayan. You can see the mesmerizing and clear view of Mt. Everest (8848 m), the highest peak in the world along with thousands of mountains. You can explore the wildlife, Tibetan monasteries, glaciers, and also the view of some green trees carpeted hills.

You can also explore the culture and tradition of the Sherpas and colorful village of Namche Bazaar. Besides that, you can explore Kathmandu city and visit the cultural and historical places. This expedition is a great experience that you can acquire in your life. You can explore the Himalayas and it’s a good place for mountaineering lovers.
